Sarah Vaughan Smith

Sarah Vaughan Smith, the only child of a young mother, was born in the rural south of Franklinton, NC. While only nine months old, her mother decided to move her small young family to the big city of Boston, MA to start their new life together. While growing up in Massachusetts, she experienced a lot of opportunities and successes. She married her soulmate and from their union they were blessed with two adult children and four grandchildren. Alongside her husband, she co-pastors a church in the urban community. She is a graduate of Bethel Bible Institute and attended Boston Business School in Boston, MA. For over twenty years, she was the Founder of a very successful nonprofit organization. Currently, she is the CEO & Owner of Unlimited Success Services LLC and is also a Certified Coach, Speaker and DISC Consultant and member of the John Maxwell Team. For over two decades, she worked at one of the world’s largest financial institutions, where she held various positions as an Executive Assistant to C-Suite Executives. She also has over three decades of experience in working with nonprofits. While working in both Corporate America and the nonprofit sector, she has witnessed the impact of great leadership in people, as well as, organizations. However, with all of her accomplishments, she has managed to keep a secret from the public's eye; her mother's battle with mental illness. During her entire life, she remembers how she watched her mother as she suffered from severe depression and psychotic symptoms. This was an area of her life she never felt comfortable or even wanted to talk about at the gala events, conferences, meetings or in the church. She felt nobody needed to know about this area of her life. After years of staying silent, she realized it is time to talk about this deadly disease, from her perspective. She believes her story will encourage others to stop masking the pain and get the support they also need. Sarah’s mission is to use her speaking ability to share her story, especially to those that are an only child, to let them know they are not alone. “Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do.” Steve Jobs
